Northwest Indian College (SEB) Student Executive Board “ Honoring Traditions “ Powwow is happening right now at the Health & Wellness Gym

Today we gather not just as a community, but as living proof of the resilience, strength, and courage of our ancestors. This sacred tradition we celebrate is more than a moment. It is a legacy that was protected, fought for, and carried forward through generations despite every challenge.

We honor those who came before us, who refused to let our ways, our voices, and our identity be silenced. Because of them, we stand here today, still rooted, still rising, still connected.

As Indigenous people, we carry that same strength within us. It lives in our stories, our songs, our ceremonies, and in the way we continue to walk forward with pride. We are not only preserving tradition, we are shaping its future.

Let us remember that what we do today matters for those who come after us. May we continue to carry these teachings with respect, with courage, and with love, so that generations ahead will know who they are and where they come from.

Today, we celebrate. Today, we remember. Today, we continue.
