⚜️ LAND NAV 1 ⚜️

⚜️ Our cadets hit the terrain for their first Land Navigation training of the semester! From reading the map to plotting points and putting their compass skills to work, Crusader Cadets put their land navigation knowledge to the test. ⚜️

⚜️ This training will help prepare our cadets for FTX, CST, and the advanced training they’ll encounter further in their Army careers. ⚔️

CADET OF THE MONTH: CDT ISRAEL NAJERA

⚜️ Congratulations to Cadet Najera, who was selected by his peers as our Cadet of the Month for August! 🇺🇸

Cadet Najera was chosen for consistently demonstrating strong leadership, commitment, teamwork, and the Army Values both in and out of ROTC. His willingness to step up, support his fellow cadets, and lead by example reflects the qualities we look for in future Army officers.

UMHB's ROTC program has planted 2,977 American flags in front of Luther Memorial to honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
Members of the UMHB and surrounding communities are encouraged to visit the memorial any time until Saturday, Sept. 12.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support the UMHB ROTC’s Flags In event. The incredible turnout helped make this event a great success, and the sea of flags across campus will stand as a powerful reminder of the lives forever changed on 9/11.

Throughout the next week as we walk through campus, we will be reminded to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, as well as the brave men and women who served and sacrificed in the aftermath.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
