Dear Non-Traditional Students,

Thank you for letting me help you in your road to graduation. It has been so rewarding to be part of your lives and major milestones. I have enjoyed my time with the Non-Traditional Student Program, first as the student NTSP Manager for 2018-2019 and again as the NTSP Associate since January. I have made so many memories which I will always cherish, and I hope I have been of some help to you.
However, it is time for me to say goodbye. I will be leaving this position soon. My last day here will be Friday, August 21. I am going on to homeschool my son full-time for the Fall 2020 term and pursue other opportunities after that. This decision was not an easy one to make. I have loved this program since I was a student and the work has been so fulfilling. However, my attention is needed elsewhere at the moment.

I am asking for your understanding that anything I announce is tentative as my position will be filled by someone else. I am making strong recommendations based upon your survey results and my experiences here, but it is ultimately up to the new Associate to implement any decisions and changes. I fully trust that a great candidate will be hired, and they will make the best decisions they can for this situation. I please ask the community to give grace and understanding to the new Associate as they step into a new role during a challenging time and do the best they can. Please help your new Associate serve you and comply with any COVID-related changes you will see.

Thank you again for being there as a strong community for me when I was a student, and I hope that the non-traditional student community continues to remain strong in the face of our present challenges.

Also, I have attached photos of some of my favorite times here for anyone who has enough free time to scroll through them all. haha Feel free to post some of your favorite memories of Berea College in the comments.

Hi, students!

Welcome back to campus (whether you’re physically here or with us virtually)! Despite everything happening in the world around us, we are really, truly happy to have you back. This semester Digital Initiatives Librarian Abby Houston is offering virtual workshops for you to learn more about our digital support services, various digital tools and skills, and all kinds of different digital project opportunities that are at your fingertips.

All workshops require registration. You can view August’s workshops and register for them below. After registering, the Zoom link and password will be emailed to you one hour prior to the start of the workshop.
