UC Berkeley SLC Writing Program

We offer free one-to-one tutoring services for all Cal undergraduates on their academic writing.

The SLC Writing Program supports Cal undergraduates in their journeys to become more persuasive and more purposeful writers. Via student-initiated conferences and peer-facilitated workshops, our services seek to embolden students to take ownership of their writerly and scholarly growth.

Come talk through your writing with someone who knows what it is like to write at Cal! The friendly tutors at the Student Learning Center Writing Program are here to discuss your prompts, ideas, and drafts, at any stage of your process. Are you interested in one-on-one focused feedback, strategies to strengthen your writing, or a refresher on US academic writing conventions? Our Drop-in hours are M-F 1-5, and Appointments are available M-F 11-5. All services are free. Visit virtually or come in person--note that Fridays are virtual only. Our friendly peer tutors can’t wait to talk with you!
