The Californians present to you the 2018 Spring Commencement Keynote Speaker!

Attention Class of 2018, we have a very exciting announcement to make. After you have voted on our class speaker, we listened. We are honored and excited to announce that Senator Kamala Harris will be our Keynote speaker to Spring 2018 Commencement Ceremony, which marks UC Berkeley's 150th anniversary.

In 2017, Senator Harris was sworn in as a United States Senator for California, the second African-American woman and first South Asian-American senator in history. Before being elected as the Senator, she has served as the District Attorney of the City and County of San Francisco and California's Attorney General in her earlier career. Growing up in Oakland, Kamala had “a stroller-eye view of the Civil Rights movement” and she has spent her life fighting injustice.

It is our pleasure to have her as our keynote speaker to our commencement on May 12th. General tickets will be on sale this Thursday March 15th! Don't miss it!

Just a reminder that Californians will be meeting today 6-7pm in 80 Barrows to talk about logistics for volunteering for Homecoming and plans for December graduation speaker! We are still looking for a December Graduation Chair, so anyone interested in the position should stop by to learn more about the leadership position.

Seniors interested in joining Senior Class Council should also stop by! We’re looking for seniors to fill in diverse positions, such as design, finance, and recruitment!

Also, there will be snacks!! :)
