Modern Assyrian Culture (MAC) is the first course of its kind, teaching multiple aspects of the storied Assyrian Culture. Approved and endorsed by the University of California – Berkeley, MAC is offered during the semester for up to 2 credit units and is taken every semester by students representing all nations of our world, curious and eager to learn about the Modern Assyrian Culture. History, Ar

chaeology, Art, Inventions, Reading, Writing, Speaking, Dance, Music, Culinary, Genocide, Traditions, Stereotypes, Sports, Entertainment, Politics, Religions and Demographics are just a few of the topics covered in MAC. MAC takes place Tuesdays from 6-8pm in 255 Dwinelle Hall (UC Berkeley campus) and is open to the public and members of the community for auditing. MAC is also being recorded and will be broadcast to meet requests of those from around the world who have heard of this great advancement for the Assyrian Nation. Today, one of the greatest contributors and heroes of the Assyrian language and modern culture passed away. Every MAC student knows of my affection and admiration for Mr. Issa Benyamin and all that he has done. He has inspired generations and his legacy will remain truly iconic.
