Info sessions for the Global Poverty & Practice Minor are starting soon! The Global Poverty and Practice Minor introduces students to the frameworks, methods, and practical skills necessary to engage with global poverty and inequality in effective ways.

✋🌎PLEASE NOTE: There is availability in the introductory course, GPP 115: Global Poverty: Challenges and Hopes. PRIORITY will be given to incoming students and students intending to declare the GPP Minor! 🙌

Hey scholars, Fellowship alert!!! Applications are OPEN for The Latinx Research Center (LCR) Faculty-Mentored Undergraduate Research Fellowship (FMURF).

The program runs from Fall 2022 through Summer 2023, and pairs outstanding faculty with outstanding undergraduate students advancing research in US Latinx Studies across the liberal arts, sciences, professional schools and the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive.

The key application dates are as follows:
👉THIS Wednesday, August 31, 2022: Application Closes @ 3pm!!!
👉Tuesday, September 6, 2022: Selected Student Fellows Announced
👉 Friday, September 9, 2022: Small Reception at LRC @ 3:30pm

This Thursday we will be hosting Grad Prep 101: a workshop dedicated to outlining the basics of preparing for graduate school applications. This will include going over required materials and the basics of creating a timeline to keep you organized!

This event provides both new and continuing students to connect with over 1,200+ registered student organizations (RSOs), 60 sororities & fraternities (CalGreeks), and student government groups (ASUC and also the Graduate Assembly.

Through Calapalooza, prospective members can learn how to join a student group, the benefits of membership, the expected time commitment, membership requirements, and how joining can positively impact a student’s Berkeley experience.

This is a great opportunity to gain research experience or work closely with WORLD RENOWN faculty at UC Berkeley. Also, students can use their community college courses for their URAP applications!
