The Men that Prey use a second half comeback to down the Little Giants in the "POP'S LOUNGE" Game of the Night

BETHANY, Okla. — It took a second half comeback but Men that Prey, were able to overcome adversity and earn the 68-64 win over the Little Giants.

"our defense is a snake pit," said Nick Chafey. "We shut them down in the second half and were able to get the win."

"Jay Football" is still impressing the minds of the Heisman voters throwing nine touchdown passes. Its tough to throw nine touchdowns, but to do it in a environment like the game of the night for a freshman has NFL scouts drooling.

"He is exceeding expectations," said Chafey. "Made a few mistakes trying to pad stats at the end when we were trying to run the clock out. But thats expected. Our defense would have stopped them anyways.

Chafey and Clay Milford make things difficult on opposing offenses. Milford is also a dynamic player on offense. Blake Anderson also had nine catches, and was a problem for the Little Giants.

The Little Giants will be waiting for the Men that Prey in the playoffs, and we can expect them to be ready.

Be sure to check back on Monday, to see the next preview for the "POP'S LOUNGE" Game of the Night

BETHANY, Okla. — Katie Langston had two interception returns for touchdowns in the first five minutes as her team won 42-0 over Nina Kionute's.

Langston's team had a stout defense, as Kiounte's couldn't get anything going on offense.

"We played well," said Katie Langston, "we came out and we got the win."

Langston had 4 catches, three interceptions, including two for a touchdown, two receiving touchdowns, and one two point conversion catch. Kelsi Holcomb had 4 catches, three interceptions and two were for touchdowns.

Langstons team played well. But Kionute's team was missing their captain in Kionute, and Bekah Stewart, so next time these two teams meet it should be more interesting.

"Women's Kickoff Preview" and "POP'S LOUNGE" Game of the Night

BETHANY, Okla. — Wes Harmon Field will be overflowing with football tonight as the women's flag football league kicks off at 6:00 p.m. (CT) and the men's "POP'S LOUNGE" Game of the Night will kick off at 8:45 (CT).

Katie Langston will lead her team as she takes on Nina Kionute, in what should be a great game between the two. A lot about this women's season is unknown, due to the fact there are so many new players. It should be a great battle between these two and we know it will be highly competitive.

"There is no room for second place," said Langston. "There is only one place in my game and that's first place.

There will be Heisman candidates all over the field tonight in Langston, Kionute and Alexa Srader. But which player will work their way up the polls? With only two women's teams this season, they will play each other one time a week. At the end of the season whichever team has the most wins against one another, will win the coveted championship. It should be interesting to see if these two teams form a rivalry from playing each other so often.

Who will play quarterback? who will be the most dangerous wide receiver? who will be the most feared defensive back? find out tonight at 6.

On the men's side, Cameron Hobson's high powered offensive juggernaut (The Little Giants) will face off against Nick Chafey's ultra efficient defense (Men Who Prey) in what should be a grind it out type of game.

The differences in these two teams is obvious. The Little Giants will look to take shots deep down the field and make the big play while the Men Who Prey will try to use the clock, and grind this game out.

Each team features poised quarterbacks who will look to leave their mark. Timmy Riggs bolstered his Heisman candidacy last night throwing ten touchdowns. We already new what Riggs could bring to the table, but we weren't sure about the freshman for the Men Who Prey in Jay Seymour. After last nights 11 touchdown performance, Seymour is starting to draw Johnny Manziel comparisons and even has earned the nickname to his teammates as "Jay Football".

"We're really just trying to capitalize on limiting defensive errors made in our first game," said safety Nick Chafey. "The goal is to have a suffocating defense by the end of the regular season. The offense will be fine"

Clay Milford and Nick Chafey are arguably the best safety tandem in the league, and both are on the Jim Thorpe watch list. But on the other side of the ball is Cameron Hobson and Sidney Childers, who are arguably the best wide receiver duo in the league.

"My team has heart--more heart then skill," said Hobson. "I will take heart over skill every day. Like my friend Ralph used to say: 'Great hearts steadily send forth the secret forces that incessantly draw great events. 'My team will play together through adversity because we have what it takes on the inside; we have the ability to succeed."

It should be a great matchup between these two teams. Last nights Game of the Night drew a television audience of 7 million people. Tonights audience is expected to hit double digits.

Eight other teams will be in action tonight as well. It all starts at 6, on Wes Harmon Field.

"Juan On One Coverage Downs Tebow's Youth Group"

*Other Notable Performances

BETHANY, Okla. — When a train gets rolling on the tracks, its pretty difficult to stop it. That is exactly what "Juan On One Coverage" did on Wednesday night. They got on the tracks and couldn't be stopped scoring every time they touched the ball in a 76-70 win over "Tebows Youth Group". Colby Connel was spectacular in his first ever start at quarterback. Connel threw 10 touchdowns and completed 8 two point conversions putting points on the scoreboard at ease.

"I have to just give it to my team," said Connel. "We were a man down, the game was hyped, and we played down most of the game, but we didn't let that get to us. We made the right plays and just did things the way we said we were going to do them. We'll clean up the defense but its hard to beat us when you score ten touchdowns."

What might be the most impressive stat of the night, wasn't Connel flinging whistling spirals into the endzone, but who was catching them. Francisco Hukill is now inching his way up closer in the Heisman and Bilentnikoff race after he had 16 catches, 3 touchdowns, and caught four extra points. Juan Redmon was a nightmare matchup for Tebows Youth Group pulling in ten catches, three touchdowns, one two point conversion reception and the "Jersey Mike's Play of the Night" after he made a diving interception at the goal line. Tyler Copeland and Brock Redwine each pitched in 8 catches. Redwine also had three touchdowns.

"My wideouts make me out to be a better player than I am," said Connel. "They just get get open. They don't make me throw risky passes and they make plays once they get the ball. The hardest thing I have to do is say hut."

Tebow's Youth Group showed plenty of promise on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Tim Braaten threw nine touchdowns and connected on eight two point conversions. Joel Frees, had a monster game receiving with 11 catches, one touchdown, and two two point conversion receptions. Brady Allred also pitched in 10 catches for a touchdown and a couple two point conversions.

*Other notable Performances

"POP'S LOUNGE" GAME OF THE NIGHT:

Bethany, Okla. — A new season of flag football kicks off tonight and expectations couldn't be any higher. Several players, teams, and captains, will look to make their mark on Wes Harmon Field tonight.

The "Sodexo Race For the Heisman" gets under way tonight as well as all of the other award watches. Tonights "Pop's Lounge Game of the Night" features "Juan On One Coverage, and "Tebow's Youth Group." Juan On One Coverage is ran by Colby Connel while Tebow's Youth Group is led by seasoned veteran Tim Braaten.

"In the end it's extra effort that separates a winner from second place," said Braaten. "But winning starts with taking complete command of the fundamentals. Then it takes desire, determination, discipline and self-sacrifice. And finally, it takes a great deal of love, fairness, and respect for your teammates. Put all those together, and even if you don't win, how can you lose?"

Braatens team will be dangerous on the offensive side of the ball, but questions remain about this team defensively. Tonight will be a true test for their defense, going against Connel's squad.

"Its all about making the right plays," said Connel. "No one is perfect but champions bounce back to make the next right play. Thats what our team is about, making the right next play. We can't worry about anything the other team does or it being the first game. We just have to go make the next right play."

The "Pop's Lounge" game of the night is the marquee matchup tonight. But six other teams will be in action as well. It all starts tonight, at 6:30 p.m. on the legendary, Wes Harmon Field.
