This past Friday we held our 5th annual “Volley for the Pups” charity volleyball tournament, with a total of five teams and raising $255 for the Osceola County Sheriff’s Canine Unit!

Congratulations to “It’s a set up” for their swift victory in our double elimination bracket.

We would also like to extend a thank you to all the participants for participating and the local businesses that made prize donations for the first-place team. Without your help, this event wouldn’t of been possible!

As the school year begins, we'd like to congratulate our President Brendan Calvert on becoming one of Ferris State University Department of Public Safety's 2019-2020 student cadets.

We are proud of his accomplishments and cannot wait to see what the year has in store for our other members.

Please join us in welcoming Brendan Calvert as one of the 2019 - 2020 student cadets.

Cadet Calvert's duties will include assisting the campus community, conducting minor police investigations and reports, enforcing parking rules and regulations, opening and closing buildings on campus during the weekend, dispatching, helping facilitate security during special events, and assisting in supervision of student employees.

Before becoming a Police Cadet, Calvert served as a student dispatcher, service officer, and as the foot patrol coordinator. Calvert will serve as the Service Officer Coordinator for the 2019 - 2020 school year, in addition to his cadet role.

Calvert is the President of Alpha Phi Sigma - Ferris State University, the Ferris State University School of Criminal Justice Honors Society, President of the Blue Line Fitness Club, Vice President of the Bulldog Barbell Club, and a coach at CrossFit Fidei in Big Rapids.

Congratulations, Brendan. We look forward to your leadership and passion towards making Ferris State University a safe campus.

Last night we had the pleasure to induct two new members to our organization, Brendan Ca lvert and Hannah Dittmar! These two have met the rigorous standards that Alpha Phi Sigma upholds as an honor society, and we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish with our group!

These two inductees will also be paving the way for a new generation of our chapter, as they were elected to be members of the executive board!

A congratulations is in order for our Spring 2019 graduates in Alpha Phi Sigma! They have been amazing members and have lead the way for the future of this organization and will continue to show what it means to be an Alpha Phi Sigma Alum as they move on to their future endeavours!

Alpha Phi Sigma will be hosting a car wash today from 11am to 3pm at the Big Rapids Township Fire Department!

It is by donation only and proceeds will be split between Alpha Phi Sigma and the Big Rapids Township Fire Department.

Alpha Phi Sigma hosted an amazing Spring Formal to end the year on a good note! Just some of the night included members and their guests eating delicious food, becoming inspired from the motivational keynote speech, and watching members receive some fitting awards that gave everyone a good laugh!

We have an honor society that promotes academic and professional excellence, but doesn't forget how to have have a fun time and look good doing it! Congratulations again to those seniors leaving us following this semester, and best of luck on your future endeavours!
