Growth comes in many forms. 🌱

One of the biggest hits on campus this spring was our plant event, where students painted their own pots, selected a succulent or air plant, and created something uniquely their own.

Just like the plants they took home, our students grow every day—building new skills, gaining confidence, forming friendships, and preparing for their futures.

At SWCD, learning happens both inside and outside the classroom, creating opportunities for students to connect, create, and thrive.

🌿 Which would you choose: a succulent or an air plant?

College life can be busy, stressful, and overwhelming at times—which is why moments to slow down and recharge matter. 🧘

SWCD’s Yoga Event gave students a chance to relax, connect, and focus on their well-being alongside friends and classmates. Events like these are a reminder that student success is about more than academics—it’s also about creating a supportive community that cares about mental health and balance.

Taking care of yourself is important, and at SWCD, students are encouraged to do both: work hard and make time to breathe.

At SWCD, student support goes beyond the classroom.

Through special events and guest speakers, students are encouraged to grow not only academically, but personally as well. Recently, students had the opportunity to hear from Deaf influencer, Clyde Catron, as he shared his powerful journey from addiction to a sober, drug-free life.

His story sparked meaningful conversations about perseverance, choices, mental health, and the importance of community and support.

Creating opportunities like this is part of what makes SWCD special—a place where students are encouraged, inspired, and reminded that they are never alone in their journey.
