Today’s Faculty & Staff Spotlight is Mandy Robbins, Nursing Program Coordinator at Mountain Empire Community College!

A proud Lee County native, Mandy’s nursing journey began right here in Southwest Virginia after graduating from the Virginia Appalachian Tricollege Nursing Program in 2007. From serving as a bedside nurse in a local emergency department to becoming a nursing educator and now leading as MECC’s Nursing Program Coordinator, Mandy has built her career around patient care, student success, and preparing the next generation of nurses.

Her dedication to nursing education and her commitment to serving our region make her an incredible part of the MECC family.

Due to recent weather-related closures, Mountain Empire Community College has extended the application deadline for the Fall 2026 Registered Nursing (RN) Program.

🗓 New application deadline: March 15

The RN program prepares students for a rewarding career in healthcare through hands-on clinical experience, dedicated faculty, and a curriculum focused on real-world patient care.

This extension is intended to give students additional time to complete their applications following weather disruptions.
