For 30 consecutive days this September, volunteer musicians will sound Taps live at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo as part of 30 Days of Real Taps, an initiative led by Samford alumnus Matthew Burford. 🇺🇸🎺

Through his nonprofit, Real Taps for Real Heroes, Burford works to connect trained buglers with military families and ceremonies across Alabama, ensuring veterans are honored through the live performance of Taps.

Through service, remembrance and community, the initiative is helping ensure Alabama's veterans are honored with the tribute they deserve. 🇺🇸

The 2026-27 academic year is officially underway! At Opening Convocation, President Taylor shared prayer as Samford's institutional theme for the year, drawing from Colossians 4:2: "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Football season is here, and Samford takes on UAB October 3! This is only the second football meeting ever between the two cross-town Birmingham schools. Join us as the Bulldogs take on the Blazers for the first time in almost 34 years.
