A W**d is but an Unloved Flower...
“Whatever Otherness w**ds may possess, it is an outcome of human artifice.”

Once upon a time I spent a short while working with the landscape department at a university. Charlie was my supervisor. One day we were assigned to w**d and replant several flower beds. I didn't (and still really don't) know a lot about flowers and asked Charlie what a w**d was. He told me that a w**d was any plant someplace we didn't want it. (I didn't know till I read this article that he was likely quoting someone else.)

The definition of what makes a w**d may seem straight forward. The clincher seems to be "where we don't want it." Maybe we have w**ds within us...and maybe it's important not to w**d our inner garden without first asking "why don't I want that there."

Like some folks, I have a yard. I don't much care for cutting my yard. (Some of the reasons why is a different story.) One reason is that I like to see all the "w**ds" growing and doing their thing. The contrary nature of the wildness of the w**ds in my yard is encouraging to me. And those w**dy little flowers are just as lovely to my eyes as any cultivated rose.

"Whatever Otherness w**ds may possess, it is an outcome of human artifice.”

"Evidence of a lush garden once planted here is scattered around, as the plants and flowers have overgrown their beds and both the gardens and fairy houses have assimilated into the forest. "

Often, I too, with to become assimilated into the forest.

But I question...is this place truly abandoned?

A miniature village lies nearly forgotten in the forest by the side of a major highway.

The influence of alchemical thought in the development of the modern Tarot has interested me for, well...a very long time.

This statue, even though it has a seemingly mundane origin, is interesting to me.

An alchemical monument that represents "Earth, Air, Fire, and Water."

"33. Wake up and fight."

I don't typically do the New Year's resolution thing...but this list I liked.

How to keep on keeping on by keeping your dreams, changing your socks, and attaining self-actualization.
