As many of you know, our friend and mentor Bud Spivey passed away at his home last Friday, September 27th.

Those of us who knew Bud are lucky to have had him in our lives. Though he could be one of the toughest professors many of us have ever had, he always strove to help us improve in whatever it was we were doing. He was an incredible influence to all of us.

To everyone that didn't know Bud: I am truly sorry that you didn't. I know he would have loved to have met you.

There was never a boring moment with Bud. His subtle but profound advice and the jokes that you would only laugh at minutes after he had said them saw to that.

The man was an enigma.

I, for one, hope that if I ever happen to meet Jesus in the bathroom, Bud will be there with him.
