So what does it look like when Lawson State Community College students take care of business?
Just ask Jasmyne Hill, one of the nation's newest recipients of a major scholarship from Kappa Beta Delta business honor society.
The aspiring entrepreneur recently earned the Dr. Andrew V. Stevenson International Merit Scholarship🏆, which will support her as she continues her studies and works toward her goals.
An excerpt from her winning essay offers a glimpse into her motivation:
“I run a hair braiding business, which has taught me entrepreneurship, financial responsibility, and customer service," Jasmyne wrote. "Mentoring others inspired my goal to empower people through education. My goal is to earn a business degree and open a salon and beauty school. This scholarship will help me continue turning challenges into purpose.”
Jasmyne, who maintains a 3.65 GPA, also serves as vice president of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at Lawson. It’s no surprise she has a clear vision for what she wants to achieve.
“My personal and academic goals are driven by both my passion for education and my desire to create opportunities for others,” she added in her scholarship application.
Congratulations, Jasmyne! And thank you 😀 to Dr. Stephanie Henry of Lawson's Business and Information Technologies Division, for sharing the good news.
