Spring 2026 registration is still open at Lawson State Community College, and faculty and advisors are ready to help you secure your classes for the upcoming semester, which begins January 12. If you — or someone you know — still needs to register, Lawson State is here for you!

There’s even a special day set aside for you to handle your business: New Student Orientation and Open Registration are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 10 on the Birmingham Campus from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Wave 1 closing date for scholarships associated with our partners at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund is approaching fast: January 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST. That is just over a week away!

Hey Lawson fam, if you know a student who is hands-on, curious, and ready to turn their passion for cars or technology into a career, you don't want to miss this.
The Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association and Alabama Community College System are offering $400,000 in scholarships — including support for students pursuing Automotive Service Technology and other high-demand technical fields at Lawson State. The individual $4,000 scholarships are earmarked for students who are currently enrolled and the money will cover tuition, books, and fees for 2026 spring, summer or fall semesters.
