The Provost’s Awards for Faculty Excellence in Undergraduate Research, Service Learning, Core Teaching, and Education Abroad honor UAB faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary commitment to engaging undergraduate students in research, creative activities, service learning, core classes, and education abroad experiences.

Nominations must be submitted using the Nomination Form. Submit nominations by May 1, 2026. Any UAB student, faculty, staff, or community member may make a nomination by completing and submitting a short paragraph describing why the nominee is deserving of the award.

On April 11, 2026, the Service-Learning Ambassadors assisted with The Red Shoe Run: Rockin' 5K, presented by McDonald's. raised a record-breaking $101,190 (which will provide 675 nights of comfort and care at the Ronald McDonald House free of charge), making it their most impactful Red Shoe Run yet! 😁
