Brock School of Business has long history of achievements for business education at Samford, which has offered degrees in business and commerce since 1922. In 1965, the School of Business was established to offer both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business. Alabama’s first part-time master of business administration degree program was established at Samford, and the first MBA degrees were awa

rded in 1967. Now, there are more than 800 students enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The business school was fully accredited by AACSB International in 1999 and reaccredited in 2010, 2015 and 2020. This recognition is earned by less than five percent of business schools worldwide.

It’s Faculty Feature Friday! Earlier this month, members of the Leadership Samford cohort gathered at Vulcan Park and Museum to celebrate the completion of the nine-month program designed to develop leadership competencies among Samford faculty and staff. Through the program, participants explore leadership, teamwork, service and the mission of Christian higher education while gaining a deeper understanding of Samford’s history and community.👏

Representing Brock School of Business in the 2025-26 cohort were Kate McCombs, assistant professor of management, Dana Waldrop, director of professional success, and Rusty Yerkes, Thomas J. Adams Sr./AutoTec Professor of Risk Management and Insurance. They were joined at the celebration by Matt Mazzei and Sara McCarty, who previously completed the program and returned to recognize this year’s participants. They shared their performance with President Beck A. Taylor, Assistant Controller Denene Lemke and Director of Financial Reporting Hayden Ellis, highlighting a semester of strong results:

➡️Outperformed the S&P 500 by 441 basis points (4.41%)
