Announcing the esteemed lineup of our 2026-2027 Honors Faculty Fellows! 🔥

Starting next week, these distinguished scholars will inspire, challenge, and guide the brightest minds in the UAB Honors College, and will continue through spring 2027.

The new cohort of Honors Faculty Fellows will offer a variety of academic and enrichment opportunities that highlight the intersection between neuroscience and religion, wildlife conservation exploration, theatre’s impact on society, cultural literacy through tea traditions, creative AI use, and effective meditation strategies.

Our Honors Faculty Fellows join us from UAB College of Arts & Sciences, UAB Heersink School of Medicine, UAB School of Public Health, and UAB Libraries.

🌟 Congrats Corner: Did you know❓

Over the summer, twenty-eight honors students conducted innovative research through the 2026 UAB Honors College Presidential Honors Fellowship! 🔥

Participants were awarded a stipend to conduct their projects with guidance from faculty mentors across UAB. Every summer, the Presidential Honors Fellowship program allows students from different majors and disciplines to engage in research or creative activity focused on their majors or academic interests.

Through the continued partnership with the Heersink School of Medicine’s Department of Medicine— Cardiovascular Disease, three additional honors students were selected to participate in the UAB/American Heart Association (AHA) Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program, to learn and develop research about cutting-edge science and medicine in the field of cardiovascular disease.

📣 Did you know tomorrow is the last day to add or drop a course without paying full tuition and associated course fees?

Be sure to talk to your Academic and Honors Advisors before changing your current course schedule, along with inquiring about available courses and seminars. You can drop and add online using BlazerNET.

**Starting Sept. 2, through Oct. 7, the Extended Drop Period will allow students to drop a course without paying full tuition; however, students will be responsible for fees associated with the course(s).
