Honors students volunteered at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, a space that celebrates Alabama’s legacy in jazz and music.

Through their help in cleaning and tidying the space, students supported an environment where culture and creativity can continue to inspire the community. 💚

Honors students helped clean and care for the space, supporting an organization that provides refuge, respite, and resources for families facing a child’s serious medical diagnosis. 💚

Reliving some of our fondest memories from our recent Medallion Ceremony! 🏅

We celebrated and honored our graduating students in front of their friends and families, along with UAB faculty and staff. They were presented with a special medallion to wear at commencement.

Honors Student Leader Branden Duyvestyn gave opening remarks, while Provost Janet Woodruff-Borden shared celebratory and encouraging words of affirmation.

Honors Alumnus, Dr. Ameen Barghi ('15), shared insightful tips on buidling an impactful life post-graduation.

We also recognized this year's Honors College Dean's Award recipients: Branden Duyvestyn for Outstanding Undergraduate Student and Professor Ashley Jones for Excellence in Honors Teaching.

Congrats to these amazing students! ✨ Did you know ⁉️

UAB Honors College students — Vamsi Singu, Neha Singaravelan, and Rishab Samant — were recently named Barry Goldwater Scholars, one of the nation’s most prestigious awards for students pursuing research careers in science, mathematics and/or engineering.

They were selected for their exceptional academic achievement, research excellence and commitment to becoming physician‑scientists.

Upon graduation, Singu plans to pursue an M.D. and a Ph.D. in neuroscience, and Singaravelan and Samant plan to pursue an M.D. and a Ph.D. in cancer biology.
