Are you a high school or college student with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or the parent of a student with ASD?
Want help to make your college experience a success?

The goal of this grant-funded research study is to develop a comprehensive program to promote successful transition of students with ASD from high school into college. This program is for individuals with ASD who are age 16-25 and either in high school or college. Students, parents, and involved school personnel receive payments for completing assessments (up to $70 for students, $45 for parents, and $10 for school personnel).

Social Anxiety Research Project for Teens 12-16:

Parents, is your teen nervous or afraid in social situations? The Social Anxiety Research Project can help. This program is open for teens between 12 and 16 years of age. Don't let anxiety keep your son or daughter from enjoying life. The treatment will be offered free of charge and qualifying families will receive payment ($50 for each assessment session). This payment is to offset the time and inconvenience to you since we are collecting questionnaires and administering some computerized tests to help us evaluate the treatment. We are currently recruiting children, 9 to 12 years of age, to participate in a study to develop a fully automatic system that can accurately detect human emotional expression. We are looking for children with and without autism spectrum disorder (ASD). If eligible, parent and child will complete an assessment at the Virginia Tech Child Study Center, which lasts between 2 to 3 hours (time varies based on group – with or without ASD). You will complete paper and pencil and computerized measures.

Unstuck & On Target! is a new group intervention being offered at the VT Psychological Services Center. This group program is free and open for children between 8 and 11 years of age. ONLINE SURVEY FOR TEENS AND PARENTS!

We are enrolling teenagers (12 to 17 year olds) AND parents of teenagers to participate in a study evaluating the degree to which emotions are portray by photographed faces. Involvement in the study will require completion of an online survey that should take no more than 30 minutes. All information is anonymous and participants can enter a raffle to win one of seven $20.00 cash prizes.

If you are the parent of a teenager between the ages of 12 and 17 and you consent to have your child participate, please feel free to share this link with your son or daughter. Every person who completes the survey can enter the raffle.
