Students in Prof. Bianco's Political Analysis Capstone publish "Did Republican-Leaning Polls 'Flood the Zone' in 2022?" in major political blog

Students in Prof. William Bianco's Political Science Indiana Political Analysis Workshop Capstone Seminar published research in a widely-read political blog examining claims that the apparent pro-Republican shift in poll averages at the end of the 2022 midterms reflected the release of a disproportionate number of pro-Republican polls, rather than a real electoral shift towards Republican candidates. The answer? Yes, it was the pollsters, not the voters.

Americans voters are angry about everything from abortion to inflation. While anger is good for voter turnout, it’s ultimately bad for solving problems in a democracy.

This could be a great volunteer opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students interested in political science and/or nonprofit management and leadership. My advocates work to develop relationships with their Members of Congress through various activities and channels, such as social media, in-person meetings, petitions, and letters to the editor in order to advance the policies and priorities of the Alzheimer’s Association.
