Today is Children’s Environmental Health Day!
This day celebrates the Children’s Environmental Health (CEH) movement, raising awareness and inspiring action to address the environmental threats to our children’s health, well-being, and future. It’s a reminder that our collective efforts can create a healthier planet and opportunities for our children to grow and thrive. At Indiana University’s School of Public Health-Bloomington, the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) leads the way in advancing CEH research and training the next generation of CEH professionals.
Our faculty conduct research and provide hands-on learning experiences in areas such as:
Air pollution and lung diseases
Food safety
Obesity
Cancer
Environmental risk assessment
Water quality and waste management
Childhood lead exposure
Microbial and antibiotic resistance
Climate impacts
Viral infectivity and disinfection
We also offer two specialized courses and a Ph.D. minor in CEH.
-SPH-V 544 Essential Topics in Children’s Environmental Health
-SPHV- 644 Assessing Children’s Environmental Health Needs: Risk and Potential Exposures
-PhD minor in CEH is available to all IU Bloomington campus PhD students majoring outside of EOH
