It was founded June 12, 1903 at the University School of Music in Ann Arbor, MI. The Sigma Alpha Chapter of Illinois Wesleyan University is located in Bloomington, IL. Sigma Alpha was founded on March 3, 1924, and is part of the Upsilon A province.

The Sigma Alphas are planning a productive summer working on our lovely home! 🏡 🤗 The summer residents will be hosting work days and weekends throughout the summer to do small projects in and around the house - all alumni and friends are more than welcome to come help! The work is a mix of a wide variety of tasks for any ability - yard work, vacuuming, organization, etc.! 🪴🧹🎶

Sigma Alpha’s Annual Cupcake Crushes fundraiser begins in a few weeks, and this year, we’re celebrating our Sweet Sixteen! Support SAI in our 16th year of fundraising and brighten up someone’s Valentine’s Day with a Cupcake Crush. Send them to your professors, friends, everyone you know! 💞

This Friday, at 7:30 pm, join us at the house to celebrate the end of the semester, rejoice in the holiday spirit, and enjoy a night of community and music! Dress code is formal and refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!❄️

Happy Opera Week IWU! In collaboration with the Opera program, Sigma Alpha will be hosting a Rose Sale and Food Drive during each performance of the opera to raise money for those affected by Hurricane Helene. You can purchase a rose to give to a loved one for $3, and if you bring in a non-perishable item to donate to IWU’s Titan Pantry, it’ll be half off! We hope to see you at the opera this week!

Last week’s Sigma Alpha Spotlight was our Editor and DEI Chairperson, Megan Elyssa for helping plan Filipino American History Month events with the Asian Pacific American Coalition! In addition to serving on the Sigma Alpha chapter executive board, she also serves as the public relations chair for APAC exec!

Earlier this month, the Sigma Alpha Chapter had the absolute honor of celebrating our chapter’s Centennial Anniversary during IWU’s Homecoming Weekend. Members of the past and present were able to get together to celebrate music and the accomplishments of our outstanding chapter, as well as create memories and bonds that will last a lifetime. Thank you to all who attended and made this year’s homecoming so special! 🤍🥀
