Christie Jansing is our Student Care Coordinator for the 2026-27 school year! From Christie:
I’m Christie Jansing, LCSW, and I’ve been a full-time faculty member with the Indiana University School of Social Work for the past two years. In my role, I oversee practicum students through the Wellness Partnership and have had the opportunity to work closely with the Jacobs School of Music and OWAHI to provide one-on-one wellness coaching and wellness programming for students.
This year, my role is expanding, and I’ll be splitting my time between Jacobs and IUSSW while continuing to work with OWAHI. I’ll also serve as the Student Care Coordinator, supporting students with personal, social, emotional, and overall wellbeing concerns.
Before coming to IU, I spent six years at another academic institution teaching social work courses and working with students in practicum. Prior to that, I spent 18 years in community mental health providing direct care to individuals and families. My experiences working with practicum students were what really sparked my interest in academia and social work education.
I hold both undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work, and social work has always been a passion of mine. I’m excited to continue working with Jacobs students, bring my experience and skills to the role, and be part of a model that prioritizes student wellness and success.
