East Asian Studies Center, Indiana University The East Asian Studies Center assists in the coordination of teaching, research, and outreach activities related to East Asia.

The East Asian Studies Center (EASC) has been designated a Comprehensive National Resource Center for the Study of East Asia by the U.S. Department of Education in partnership with the Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The consortium brings together the largest East Asia faculty concentration in the Midwest and is recognized for strengths

in the teaching of East Asia and East Asian languages as well as outreach to K-12 teachers, business, and community. EASC is also a founding member of the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA), a multi-year initiative funded by the Freeman Foundation to encourage and facilitate teaching and learning about East Asia in elementary and secondary schools nationwide.
