Acacia is an International Greek social fraternity composed of 31 active chapters throughout the U.S. Since its founding in 1904, more than 47,000 men have been initiated into our fraternal brotherhood. Acacia is the only fraternity to select an entire Greek word for its name instead of a combination of Greek letters, although the original Greek spelling of the word is AKAKIA. The Founding Fathers

of the Acacia Fraternity, all of whom were Freemasons, selected this name because of its many symbolic meanings, including strength and ruggedness, distinctiveness and leadership among mankind, and the immortality of the soul. Although Acacia is not the oldest or largest of the college fraternities, its rich heritage and distinguished history have attracted the highest quality men to join its ranks for over a century.
