Dear Alumni of the Beta Chapter of Sigma Pi,

My name is Max Asgharzadeh and I’m currently serving as the Alumni Relations Chair for the Beta Chapter.

The brothers of the Beta Chapter are proud to share our progress from the first half of the Fall 2025 semester. With a renewed focus on philanthropy, athletics, recruitment, and chapter development, our chapter continues to embody the values of Sigma Pi while strengthening our presence at Indiana University and within the Bloomington community. This newsletter marks the first edition of a new quarterly update series designed to keep our alumni informed and connected to the chapter’s growth.

Philanthropy & Recruitment
This fall, we hosted our signature philanthropy event, the Canes and Co****le Competition, alongside a successful series of Rush
events. Through the generosity of participants and the
commitment of our brothers, we raised $618 in support of IU Dance Marathon (IUDM), one of the most impactful student- led philanthropies in the nation.

The event drew over 125 potential new members, underscoring the chapter’s strong presence and reputation on campus. In addition to the Canes fundraiser, the brothers will continue to be philanthropic through upcoming events such as IUDM, Treat with Greeks, Big Man on Campus (ZTA), and a Texas BBQ.

Fall 2025 Pledge Class
We are excited to welcome a 35-man pledge class into the Beta Chapter. This strong group of new members represents a bright future for the house and an exciting step forward for the chapter’s continued growth.

House Improvements
The chapter house continues to be a focal point of brotherhood and activity. This semester, we completed a series of upgrades to the courtyard, including new lighting and fresh paint. These improvements have transformed the space into a more welcoming environment for events, brotherhood activities, and day-to-day use. We recently received our new charter at the house, and the chapter is happy to put it in our trophy cases.

Athletics
We are proud to announce that the Beta Chapter has officially formed a Little 500 bike team for this upcoming spring. The team consists of roughly 5 riders, captained by brother Logan Dintzer.
Our athletic programs continue to showcase the competitive spirit of the Beta Chapter. We have intramural teams for flag football, futsal, and several other teams. The highlight of this semester has been our GBA(Greek Basketball Team) team:
- Playoff Bound, Game 1 vs Lambda Chi Alpha (10/14 @ 7pm)
- Victories over Delta Kappa Epsilon and Kappa Sigma
- Losses against Phi Delta Theta (loss by 1) and Beta Theta Pi (loss by 3) and to Delta Tau Delta
Futsal team coached by Naman Badkul made playoffs reaching quarterfinals with a loss to Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Chapter Leadership & Advising
We are honored to welcome Jim Mahern as our new chapter advisor and Stuart Hobson as our new alumni president. Their early meetings with chapter leadership have centered on setting expectations and identifying areas for continued house improvement. With their guidance, the Beta Chapter is confident we can build a stronger foundation for years to come.

Looking Ahead
The Beta Chapter remains focused in our mission to strengthen our brotherhood, expand our philanthropic impact, and uphold the traditions of Sigma Pi at Indiana University. With more events to come we are excited for what the remainder of Fall 2025 will bring.

Stay Connected & Support the Chapter
We encourage our alumni to remain engaged with the chapter, whether by attending upcoming events such as homecoming, mentoring brothers, or supporting our philanthropic events.
