Get ready for an inspiring day of poetry! Join us on Thursday, April 9, for the 2026 Spoon River Poetry Review's Lucia Getsi Poetry Conversation and Reading.

4:00 p.m.: Poetry Conversation, IWU Ames Beckman Auditorium, featuring poet Aaron Coleman in conversation with Professor Joanne Diaz.

6:00 p.m.: Poetry Reading at University Galleries, Uptown Normal, with poets Aaron Coleman and Vasvi Kejriwal.

7:30-9:00 p.m.: Reception and book signing at Medici restaurant, Uptown Normal.

All three events are free and open to all!

*Illinois Wesleyan University Department of English Prize for Short Fiction: submit up to 5,000 words of fiction, $150 prize

Dear IWU English Community,

We're sorry to share that Kathie Bradley has passed away. Kathie passed on December 21, 2025 at her home.

Kathie retired in 2021 after almost 30 years of working as an Administrative Specialist at Illinois Wesleyan University, including, as many of you know, for a number of years with the English department. Kathie enjoyed writing and was a published author, proud to have some articles printed in the Chicago Tribune.
