Pi Lambda Phi at Indiana University The official page of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity at Indiana University Bloomington.

Founded at Yale University in 1895, Pi Lambda Phi (Pilam) was the first non-sectarian fraternity in the United States, accepting men of good character without regard to race or religion. Today, Pilam chapters at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada cultivate communities that promote academics, leadership, social skills, and lifelong fraternal bonds. Pilam men build skills that

will help them succeed in their post-graduate endeavors in an environment free from hazing and drug and alcohol abuse.

With 2022 in full swing and leadership changes complete, PiLam and our philanthropy chair Michael are proud to announce our Valentine’s Day Care Packages for the Homeless fundraiser. We did this last year and it was a huge success so we’re looking forward to another opportunity to help the homeless community throughout Bloomington with your help. Please consider donating through either the website link on our page, where you can find more info about the fundraiser, or on Venmo or Cash App. Thank you for helping us make a difference to those that need it most in our community!

Happy Pride month!

June was initially recognized in the US as Pride month in 1999 to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising of 1969. The events at Stonewall were the tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the U.S. This led to the first-ever pride march, held in New York City in 1970, to commemorate the 1-year anniversary of the events at Stonewall. Pride takes many forms today to celebrate the contributions and historical impact of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I am posting one last reminder about our Philanthropy event tomorrow! We sit at $3209 on GoFund Me and are 11 cents shy from $800 on Venmo so we surpassed $4k yesterday! We are shopping today later at Target, my work, which could include roughly 20% off the entire purchase! All money saved will be spent on Gift Cards for these Care Packages! I appreciate everyone's help so far and am very excited to be leading my brothers in this Philanthropy event tomorrow!
