Our next general meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 12th. The Accounting Association will be making some changes in the future. Note the following:
• There will be an attendance requirement to run for a position in the future.
• In addition to the attendance requirement, to be eligible to run for President, Vice President, or the Treasurer position in the future, you must have previously held a subcommittee position.
The following subcommittees will be created in the next year:
• VITA
• Activities
• Professional Development
• Meetings
• Mentoring
Holding a position on a subcommittee is a great way for underclassmen to gain leadership experience, which is a skill that many employers desire. Remember, you may not run for certain executive positions in the future if you haven’t held a position on a subcommittee. If you would like to run for a subcommittee position, please bring your resume and cover letter to the general meeting on March 12th. If you would like to run for a subcommittee position but cannot attend the meeting, due to an excused absence, please email Stephen Deiter at [email protected].
If you would like to run for any of the following positions or find out more information on a position, please email Stephen Deiter at [email protected] by March 5th:
• President: Junior or Senior Standing
• Vice President: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Standing
• Treasurer: Junior or Senior Standing
• Secretary: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Standing
• VITA Chair: One Year VITA Experience
• Hospitality Chair: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Standing
• Publicity Chair: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Standing
We will hold elections for these positions at the March 12th general meeting. If you would like to vote, but will not be attending the meeting, please contact a member of the executive board and you can vote through email.
