FIVE REASONS WHY STUDENTS SHOULD TAKE A CLEP EXAM
Summer is an ideal time to earn college credit, and CLEP exams are a flexible way to get credit for subjects that students may already be familiar with.
Here are five reason why students should take a CLEP exam this summer:
1. They can get college credit and get ahead. With a passing score on a CLEP exam, students could earn three or more credits at more than 2,900 colleges and universities and place out of introductory-level courses.
2. They can save on tuition. Earning 15 CLEP credits toward a degree could save a student nearly $5,000 at the average public four-year institution and over $17,000 at the average private nonprofit institution.
3. It won't get in the way of summer plans. CLEP exams are offered year-round so students can study on their own schedule and sign up to test when they feel ready.
4. They might already know about the exam subjects. CLEP exams cover subjects they may have taken in high school, such as College Algebra or Spanish.
5. There are free online CLEP courses to help them study. Check out Modern States Education Alliance for free CLEP courses taught by professors at leading institutions.
