Education should be about learning, not worrying about how to cover sudden expenses. The Emergency Retention Fund supports students when they need it most, helping them stay on track.
We think of a BMCU student whose family income placed her just above the cutoff for Pell Grants and other need-based aid. On paper, she didn’t qualify for assistance, but in reality, her family still struggled to afford the cost of college. Without additional support, she might have missed the opportunity for her education. Through the Emergency Retention Fund, she was able to make her dreams a reality. Now, she continues to grow spiritually and academically with less worry.
