Bluefield University has received an initial gift of nearly $540,000 to create the Donald B. Wanda O'Shinski Moore Scholarship Fund, one of the university’s largest endowed scholarship funds to date, in honor of BU alumni Wanda O’Shinski Moore and Donald Blair Moore.

Beginning July 7, 2026, Dr. Jason Craig will enter the role of Bluefield University's Provost following his service at Marymount University.

Dr. Craig will serve as Bluefield's chief academic officer, providing leadership across all academic programs, faculty affairs, and institutional effectiveness. His appointment comes as the university prepares to expand graduate and online education, launch its first doctoral programs pending SACSCOC approval, and continue growth in high-demand, workforce-aligned fields.
