Freshman Spotlight Thursday: Avery Smith! 🎸

Meet Avery Smith, a freshman at Snead State! 💙💛 Avery is majoring in Engineering and plans to transfer to UAH after Snead to finish his degree.

His favorite things about Snead are the location and the teachers! 📚

When he’s not studying, Avery loves writing songs and playing music He plays the drums, bass, and guitar! His favorite food is, of course, pizza , and his dream travel destination is Montana !🥁🏔️

We’re so excited to have Avery on our Ambassador team this year! 💙💛

Sophomore Spotlight Tuesday: Kaitlyn Gilbert! 💜

Meet Kaitlyn Gilbert, one of our amazing Sophomore Ambassadors! Kaitlyn is in Snead State’s Nursing Program and plans to graduate with her RN. 🩺

When she’s not studying, you can find Kaitlyn fishing or spending time outdoors! Her favorite color is purple, and her favorite place on campus is the gazebo. 🎣

Kaitlyn is also a part of our Event Committee, helping make our ambassador events and activities happen!

If Kaitlyn could pack her bags and head anywhere, her dream destination would be Venice, Italy! 🇮🇹

She can’t wait to see what sophomore season has in stored!! 💙💛

Parson Days 2026, you were one for the books! 💙✨

From meeting our newest Parsons to making memories with our ambassador family, this week was filled with laughter, new friendships, and so much Snead State spirit. We can’t wait to see everything this incoming class accomplishes.

To our sophomore ambassadors—thank you for leading with servant hearts, welcoming every student with a smile, and making this year’s Parson Days so special. Your impact on Snead State won’t be forgotten, and we’re so grateful for everything you’ve poured into this program. 💙
