ADVISING APPOINTMENTS: FAU is no longer using advisor-track for appointments. All FAU undergraduate students now use MyFAU to make an academic advising appointment. This applies to all colleges at FAU. Here are the NEW steps to making an undergraduate academic advising appointment at FAU.

1. Log into your MyFAU
2. Click on the "Success Network" tab
3. Click the "Success Network Circle"
4. Click on "Schedule a Meeting"
5. On the right hand side of the page choose “My Success Network”
6. From the list choose a "Primary Advisor" and then under the name click on "Schedule Appointment"
7. Choose a time and then click on "Sign Up"
8. Fill out the requested information and click "Submit"

Applications are now being accepted for the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce’s 2013-2014 Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) that empowers South Florida students entering grades 7-12 to start their own small business from the ground up, with instruction, inspiration and mentor-ship from local business leaders.

Students must be creative, energetic and interested in entrepreneurship. Weekly classes are located at the Florida Atlantic University College of Business’ Adams Center for Entrepreneurship from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The 2013-2014 class kicks off in September and ends in early May.

Applications are now available online at www.bocaratonchamber.com/yea, and must be postmarked on or before June 15th. The selection process, which requires an interview, is competitive; with admission limited to 24 students and granted on a rolling basis, applicants are urged to apply early. Applications will be accepted until such time as the class cap is achieved. Tuition is $395; scholarships are available based on need and merit.

Florida Atlantic University’s Adams Center for Entrepreneurship and the College of Business, along with the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University, recently hosted the 2012 FAU Business Plan Competition in which 21 teams comprised of FAU students, members of the business community, alumni and, for the first time, local high school students competed for a share of more than $200,000 in cash and prizes. The high school student track winner’s prize also included a full four-year scholarship to FAU.

Florida Atlantic University conferred more than 2,600 degrees on Thursday, May 3 and Friday, May 4 during five commencement ceremonies held in the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium on the Boca Raton campus. The new graduates join more than 125,000 alumni who have graduated from FAU since the university opened its doors in 1964.

Florida Atlantic University has received the “Business of the Year Award” from the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce at its annual awards luncheon. The Boca Chamber Business Awards celebrates entrepreneurs, business people and institutions that create goods, services and jobs, as well as bring opportunity and economic prosperity to Boca Raton’s community.Each year, the Chamber presents the “Business of the Year Award” to a company or institution that has experienced continued growth, overcome major obstacles, earned major accomplishments, and demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the community. FAU was selected due to its tremendous growth and development, continued commitment to excellence in education, and forward progress over the past few years. The University has brought increased value to Boca Raton by establishing the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and a new on-campus football stadium, while remaining a champion of local business and community involvement.
