Great article on the buildings of the Boca Raton Air Field that remain, including the university's remaining T (as in Temporary!) Buildings. FAU was built on a large portion of the former base, which closed in 1947. The Army Air Force trained flight crews in the use of radar here, which made it a very secretive place. Alum Sue Gillis, curator at the Boca Raton Historical Society, is quoted throughout.

The city of Boca Raton has a past tied to World War II, with several “T-buildings” that are still standing after 83 years.
