We are proud to celebrate alumnus Nathan Roberts on his appointment to North Carolina’s 13-member Commission for Public Health by Governor Josh Stein. 👏

Since graduating from Gardner-Webb 12 years ago, Nathan has continued to grow as a pharmacist and leader through his work with CVS Health, making a meaningful impact in rural healthcare access across the state.

The Gardner-Webb University community is saddened by the passing of Dr. Earl H. Godfrey Jr., Professor Emeritus of Accounting in the Godbold College of Business, on May 7, 2026.

For more than 34 years, Dr. Godfrey faithfully served Gardner-Webb with wisdom, kindness, and a deep commitment to his students and colleagues. His legacy as a professor, mentor, and friend will live on through the countless lives he impacted throughout his years at the university.

We extend our thoughts and prayers to the Godfrey family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The Gardner-Webb community is remembering Dr. Earl H. Godfrey Jr., an educator, colleague and friend, who passed away on May 7, 2026.

Hello Runnin' Bulldogs! Gardner-Webb University is the Presenting Partner of the Charlotte Knights Faith & Family concert THIS Saturday, May 2nd. This pregame concert will feature Alexander Pappas and will begin at 4:00pm. Gates will open at 3:30pm and the concert will conclude by 5:00pm, when the gates open for Knights baseball. A ticket will be required for entry into the pregame concert and you will not be able to exit and re-enter following the conclusion of the concert. Gardner-Webb University’s 14th president, Nathaniel J. Evans, was formally sworn into his office on April 24, 2026. The program was held at 10:15 a.m. in Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center. Board of Trustees Chair the Rev. Dr. M. Lamont Littlejohn Jr. presided over the investiture ceremony.

“Today, we gather as a community of faith, learning, and service,” Littlejohn stated. “We are confident that the leadership being installed today will continue to strengthen the legacy of Gardner-Webb University—building upon the foundation laid by those who have served before, while guiding this institution toward new opportunities for growth, innovation, and impact.”
