Careers in areas such as land management, conservation, environmental science, or public lands policy aren’t easy to get into without connections. At Conservation Connections Day, you’ll have the opportunity to meet professionals from 16 different organizations, explore career paths, get leads on internships, and learn about the hiring process. For the first time in Boise State history, BOTH part-time job fairs - the fall On-Campus and Part-Time Job Fair, and the spring Part-Time and Summer Job Fair, will have been rained out in the same school year. 🌧

Despite the incoming storm, the employers are still coming and we'll be heading inside to stay warm and dry! Instead of the SUB patio, find us in the Simplot Ballroom.

Next Wednesday! Come find your summer job or maybe even one you can keep through next year. If it happens to be raining that day, check your email - we'll send you the new location.

Here are some tips for standing out from the competition at Part-Time and Summer Job Fair:
🔹Be friendly! Approach employers with a big smile and a handshake.
🔸Listen attentively, and ask follow-up questions to show your interest.
🔹Don’t just focus on things like pay and hours. Ask questions about the company, their goals, the skills they’re looking for, and what kinds of things you’d get to work on.
🔸You don’t need a formal elevator pitch, but do come mentally prepared to talk about your interests, skills, and other reasons they might want to hire you. If you find a job you’re interested in, work those things into the conversation!
🔹Be open minded and talk to everyone. Don’t rule out a company without talking to them about the kinds of opportunities they have available.
🔸You don’t need to bring resumes (unless you want to!), but make sure you have something you can send in a day or two. When sending out a resume, target it to the type of job you’re applying for, focusing on the kinds of skills and experiences they’re looking for.

Career fair sneak peak! Ok, we won't actually have the fancy distressed wood table -that's just a Canva background - but the map is 100% real and you can claim your very own paper copy tomorrow. Swipe to see the other side for the Jordan Ballroom.

We were excited to have a career fair in the Jordan Ballroom, but as it turned out, so many employers wanted to come and meet you that we had to expand to include the Simplot Ballroom as well

What to expect:
🔹Bring your student ID for quick check-in.
🔸If you have the Handshake app, you’ll be able to check in at employer booths so they can follow up with you after the fair.
🔹Don’t forget to save time to have your free professional headshot taken, courtesy of the Alumni Association. Photos will be available starting at 9:30 this semester (even though the fair doesn’t start till 10), and the photographer will take two 15 minute breaks around 10:45 and 1.
