Next Wednesday! Come find your summer job or maybe even one you can keep through next year. If it happens to be raining that day, check your email - we'll send you the new location.
Here are some tips for standing out from the competition at Part-Time and Summer Job Fair:
🔹Be friendly! Approach employers with a big smile and a handshake.
🔸Listen attentively, and ask follow-up questions to show your interest.
🔹Don’t just focus on things like pay and hours. Ask questions about the company, their goals, the skills they’re looking for, and what kinds of things you’d get to work on.
🔸You don’t need a formal elevator pitch, but do come mentally prepared to talk about your interests, skills, and other reasons they might want to hire you. If you find a job you’re interested in, work those things into the conversation!
🔹Be open minded and talk to everyone. Don’t rule out a company without talking to them about the kinds of opportunities they have available.
🔸You don’t need to bring resumes (unless you want to!), but make sure you have something you can send in a day or two. When sending out a resume, target it to the type of job you’re applying for, focusing on the kinds of skills and experiences they’re looking for.
