TONIGHT! Tara Karr Roberts - 2026 Idaho Great Read Author Event

Join us for an evening with Tara Karr Roberts for a lively discussion about her beautiful debut novel, "Wild and Distant Seas." The conversation will be led by Steven Olsen-Smith, Professor Emeritus of English Literature at Boise State University, followed by a Q&A with the audience and a book signing.

The event celebrates Wild and Distant Seas as a 2026 Idaho Great Reads selection. The book was chosen by the Idaho Center for the Book to be featured along with Great Reads selections from across the country at the Library of Congress National Book Festival on August 22 in Washington, D.C.

We hope to see you at our first Osher Casual Coffee Social of the fall semester! Join us this Thursday, August 20, at the Yanke building, Room 510.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for members to mingle and get acquainted, and the brief program will start at noon. Afterwards, members are welcome to enjoy refreshments provided by the Osher Baker's Dozen and continue their social visits until 1:00 p.m.

Boise's longest-running free community concert series, Alive After 5, returns for the summer on Wednesday, June 17, at 5:00 p.m. downtown at the Grove Plaza. Its first band, High Step Society, captures the spirit of the Jazz age with EDM-infused dance beats.
