Saddle up! The Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is hosting a special Year of the Fire Horse Lecture Series from February through September, 2026. These lectures will explore the history of horses and Chinese communities in Idaho. All presentations are offered at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Thousand Springs Visitor Center in Hagerman, ID.

Speakers from The Watershed Education Center recently presented for the Osher Institute and shared that there will be a showing of "Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong" at the Egyptian Theater on Wednesday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Ellie Hara, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, will present “From Stardust to Cells: The Unsolved Mystery of Life's Origins" on Friday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Boise State University Education Building Room 112.

Join us for the last Casual Coffee Social of the spring semester on Wednesday, April 15, at the Yanke building, Room 510!

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for members to mingle and get acquainted. At noon, Assistant Director Laura Mehlhaff will give updates. Then, we will hear from guest speakers Dr. John Bieter and Dr. Stewart Gardner, both of the History Department at Boise State University, about the upcoming 4th Annual SCHE Conference for K-12 Idaho Social Studies Teachers.

Boise State student Carley Johnson also will share the results of her recent survey of Osher members for her university capstone project.

Members are welcome to enjoy refreshments provided by the Osher Baker's Dozen and continue their social visits until 1:30 p.m. We hope to see you then!
