During the spring semester, students in Dr. Colleen Shuler's Teaching Integrated Science class took a field trip to La Petite Gemme Prairie in Polk County, Mo., to learn about habitats with the Missouri Dept. of Conservation. Plants were investigated, crawdads were caught, bugs were discovered, and homes of all sorts were found! 🐝🌱

Dr. Chuck Lentz's Educational Psychology class concluded the spring semester with a final project on education theorists. Students studied several theorists and then created a personal philosophy based on the ones that most closely aligned with their own thinking. 🤔🍎

STEM activities were explored last semester in Dr. Colleen Shuler's Teaching Integrated Science class! One of the final projects in this course involved creating homes for the Three Little Pigs that could withstand the forces of wind (a.k.a. the Big Bad Wolf). 🐺💨🐷

Congratulations to recent education graduate Katelyn Baker on a new job with Bolivar R-I Schools!

Katie graduated from Southwest Baptist University earlier this month with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. Starting this fall, she will be teaching kindergarten full time at Bolivar Primary School.
