This went into effect yesterday. Now, all you have to do is dial 988 in a crisis. No longer do you have to remember a long 800 number. This is nationwide.

Nationwide emergency line for mental health crisis went live YESTERDAY.

When people call, text or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing National Su***de Prevention Lifeline network.
