Red Flag Campaign (App State)

Red Flag Campaign (App State) The Red Flag Campaign at Appalachian State University is sponsored by the Office of Wellness and Prevention Services and by OASIS, Inc. That’s 1 in 5.

We believe that we can prevent violence-- but we need your help! Did you know as many as 1 in 4 college women will survive rape or attempted rape before she graduates college? How about the fact that in 21% of college dating relationships, one of the partners is being abused? But students are not powerless to change these statistics. Active bystanders can make a difference. IF YOU SEE A RED FLAG, SAY SOMETHING!

An important part of working to prevent interpersonal and sexual violence is to debunk some of the common myths surrounding these issues. These myths can make it harder for survivors to speak up and feel supported, and can lead to the normalization of violence and harmful views. Hold one another accountable and speak up when you may hear these myths. And always, believe and support survivors.
