We are the Beta chapter of Sigma Alpha Omega located at Appalachian State University, and we are sisters in Christ brought together to share the word and grow in our faith! Many people automatically dismiss the idea of “Christian sorority” as a contradiction in terms. State, they set out to prove just how perfectly those words could fit together. In the language of the Old Testament, the word “sor
ority” means “sisterhood.” Jesus first introduced the idea that all Christians are family (Matthew 12:50), therefore it naturally follows that God created Christian women to be sisters to each other. We encourage one another to grow in love through life in Christ. Some of the ways in which we fellowship include Bible studies, social activities, retreats, and service projects. Sigma Alpha Omega® is a great way to get involved and enjoy college life while remaining true to your identity as a child of God.
