Berklee Professional Music Department As a professional music major, you’ll create your own major to achieve your musical goals.

Over eight semesters, you’ll combine coursework from the college’s various majors, while completing the college’s core music curriculum. Come work with a diverse community of musicians, faculty, and industry professionals on the college’s Boston campus, and gain the specific skills you need for a career in music, all while earning a bachelor's degree.

Today we’re remembering an icon, music innovator and game changer Prince 👑

Prince entered the scene in the mid ‘70s and shook it to its core. His performance skills were unmatched, his vocal range was extraordinary and he had mastered over 27 instruments. He challenged traditional genre, gender and generational boundaries. His bold, unapologetic persona and androgynous style made him not only a music icon but also a fashion icon.

Today we’re thinking about the legendary American DJ Frankie Knuckles who is often remembered as the Godfather of House Music. House music got its name from the unique synth-pop sound and DJing style Frankie popularized at Chicago’s legendary club, The Warehouse. He was a shining example of black and LGBTQ+ excellence and he left a lasting legacy in the DJ world.
