Wentworth Institute of Technology was proud to host the 2025 The Moles Inc. Student Day, sponsored by the Sweeney Programs of Construction Management. The event welcomed over 350 students and faculty from 18 universities across the Northeast, along with representatives from the heavy construction industry.
The program opened with remarks from Moles Education Chair Terry Flynn and Moles Past President John McNamara followed by a welcome address from Wentworth President Mark Thompson. MassDOT Highway Administrator and Undersecretary of Transportation Jonathan Gulliver provided an overview of the Commonwealth’s major infrastructure initiatives and statewide revitalization strategy. Timothy McLaughlin, P.E. , Senior Vice President of Business Development & Alternative Delivery from SPS New England, Inc., delivered a detailed presentation on the SPS New England, Inc./The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western MassDOT Newton-Weston Bridge Bundle Project at the I-90/I-95 Interchange.
Participants then traveled to the project site for guided tours led by The Moles Inc. members before returning to Wentworth’s campus for lunch, networking, and a career fair featuring 16 leading heavy construction companies offering internships and full-time opportunities.
