New episode of Just Jared is here β€” and this one hits close to home for a lot of us. πŸŽ™οΈ

Dean Jared Auclair sits down with three remarkable guests to talk about something the CPS community knows well: the weight of care. Whether you're raising kids, caring for a parent, or simply managing more than anyone sees β€” this conversation is for you.

Guests include Alex Drane, Co-Founder & CEO of ARCHANGELS (a national movement supporting caregivers), Shannon Alpert, Assistant Dean of Wellness and Belonging at CPS, and Erin Clair, Associate Dean of Bachelor's Completion and certified yoga and mindfulness instructor.

They talk about what caregiving really looks like, what belonging requires from institutions, and what it means to take care of yourself while taking care of everyone else.

Meet Ketsia Leroy β€” MPS in Learning Experience Design & Technology, Spring '26, and first-generation college student! πŸŽ“

Ketsia is also a visual artist, and she found that her CPS program was a perfect meeting place for both sides of who she is: the educator and the creator. Oh, and she got engaged during fall quarter β€” making this already special chapter of her life even more memorable. πŸ’

We love seeing our students thrive in and out of the classroom. Congratulations, Ketsia! Read more β†’ https://cps.northeastern.edu/story/graduate-of-cps-ketsia-leroy/

The wisdom of hindsight, courtesy of the CPS Class of 2026. πŸŽ“

When we asked these three graduates what they'd tell their younger selves, they all agreed: take it easy, take it slow, don't rush it.

Apparently the pressure wasn't worth it β€” but the degree absolutely was. Congratulations! πŸ’™

Meet Sonia Harney, one of our Spring '26 graduates! πŸŽ‰

Sonia earned her BS in Project Management while working, writing for the Northeastern Political Review, becoming the first-ever Network Connector for students in Toronto, and traveling across 48 states and 30 countries. She called her path "untraditional" β€” then decided to reframe it as "exciting and different." We think she got that exactly right.

We can't wait to see what she does next. Read her story β†’ https://cps.northeastern.edu/story/graduate-of-cps-sonia-harney/

Congratulations to Northeastern colleagues Mamta Saxena, Asim Javed, Joe Reilly, and Shannon Alpert on their newly published research in Intersection: A Journal at the Intersection of Assessment and Learning!

Their article explores how institutions can shift from compliance-driven assessment to something more meaningful β€” a collaborative, data-informed approach designed to strengthen student learning over time. It's the kind of work that moves the whole field forward.

"Education saved me. It made my life what it is today."

Christina Inge was 8 years old when she was pulled from school to care for her grandmother. For the next two decades, she navigated a world that hadn't planned on making space for her. She taught herself from whatever books she could find.

At 19, she discovered online education β€” and everything changed.

Today she's a lecturer in CPS's Digital Communications and Media program, the creator of Harvard's graduate certificate in AI marketing, and one of the most impactful teachers her students say they've ever had.

Her story is a reminder of why non-traditional pathways in education exist β€” and why they matter.

Meet Christina:

Christina Inge’s unlikely path is exactly why she shows up for her students every day. By Natalie Bowers Christina Inge was eight years old when her formal education effectively ended, and her unconventional educational journey began. Pulled from school to care for her grandmother, who had suffere...

Parents, professors, and one very important dog β€” the CPS Class of 2026 knows who got them through. πŸΎπŸŽ“

These two graduates had some beautiful things to say about what they'd tell their younger selves: that you'll find your way into a career you'll love, that it's okay to just start, and that you absolutely belong here.

Congratulations β€” you more than proved it. πŸ’™

What does it actually take to make AI work in healthcare β€” not in theory, but in practice?

CPS Professor and Associate Dean Uwe Hohgrawe recently joined leaders from academic medicine, pharma, life sciences policy, and health innovation at a Massachusetts Innovation Network summit focused on exactly that question. His takeaways are worth a read for anyone working at the intersection of technology and health.

The short version: the technology is ready. The harder work is organizational β€” building the trust, workforce capacity, and institutional will to put it to use responsibly.

The Class of 2026 has the floor!

For Episode 11 of Just Jared, Dean Auclair sat down with two of our graduating students β€” Joseph Randall Kwadwo-Obeng Manford and Sushmitha Katherine Jayaraj β€” for an unscripted conversation about life at CPS. What worked. What was hard. What they wish they'd known sooner.

It's the kind of episode that reminds us why we do this work.

Congratulations to the entire Class of 2026. πŸŽ“
