Introducing HMS/HSDM Student Council President, Anna Mulhern.
Anna is an M1 in the Pathways Program.

“Hi all! My name is Anna (she/her) and I’m from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Before med school I studied biochemistry and gender & sexuality studies at St. Olaf College, conducted environmental health research in Alaska and worked on climate health policy. Climate health equity, LGBTQ+ healthcare access and Indigenous healthcare sovereignty are some of my passions within medicine. Outside of medicine, you can find me backpacking, painting, playing ultimate frisbee, and trying to keep my houseplants alive.

I’m beyond honored to serve as StuCo president! I hope to use this platform both build an inclusive community with my fellow students here at HMS/HSDM, as well as to advocate for health equity and human rights for our local and global communities.”

Meet one of our Student Council Members of the Week! 🎉 Allie Forman is our amazing Vice President of Student Services and a member of London Society.

Here are a few words from Allie: “I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and graduated from Yale College in 2019, where I majored in Chemistry and was a scholar in the Energy Studies Program. Having spent several years conducting research in oncology, I’m interested in pursuing questions in cancer biology, genomics, and epigenetics while also advocating for better integration of issues of environmental and human health. When not in the classroom/lab, I love spending time outdoors running/walking/biking Boston’s Emerald Necklace, trying new sourdough recipes, and coaxing my houseplants back to life. As the VP of student services on the HST side, I’m excited by the opportunity to connect the entire HMS class and help facilitate a strong sense of community out of such an incredible group of individuals!”

Meet Ruhi Kanwar, one of our Student Council Members of the Week! 🥳 Ruhi is one of the Castle Society Representatives for the Class of 2025. She grew up in central New Jersey, surrounded by the greater NY area, and then spent time on the west coast where she attended Stanford University. Her academic interest span from surgery, gender and racial disparity research, and public health interventional care. Outside of medicine, she absolutely loves dancing, hiking, traveling, and practicing yoga/mindfulness. You can catch her running around the streets of Boston or working on her yoga chakras with Dr. Sterns in the Anatomy wing! While carrying on the Castle mantle, she is most excited to foster community and promote student experience. Throughout the year, she hopes to keep providing food and spaces for her peers to connect and uplift one another in medical school!

“My name is Marta Williams, I'm from Woodbury, MN, and I attended Luther College for undergrad. Some of my favorite hobbies include reading, doing puzzles, and all kinds of outdoor activities - running, hiking, backpacking, biking, and more! I play flute, piccolo, piano and sing, and am enjoying getting involved in the music scene at HMS. I also love to bake and try out new recipes! I think student council has an awesome team this year, and am super excited to see what we can do to build and strengthen our HMS community, particularly amidst the continued challenges of COVID-19.”

Introducing one of our Student Council Members of the Week, Olivia Brumfield! 😍🤩 Here are some words from our wonderful Vice President of Student Services:

“Hey! It’s me, Olivia. I was born and raised in Rochester, NY where I spent a lot of time playing soccer, playing with my dog, eating amazing food, and trying something new every weekend! Meet one of our Student Council Members of the Week, Eana Meng! 🎉 Here are some words from our amazing Peabody Society representative:

“I'm from Brookline, MA -- so I'm a local! I love all things food -- from how to grow it (catch me at a farm often!) to eating. Food is medicine, and nutrition is a huge part of our wellbeing and health. My grandmother was a Chinese medicine practitioner so I am passionate about learning about different ways of seeing, understanding, and treating the body. There is so much wisdom for us to learn from. In addition to medicine, I am a historian-in-training, and my research focuses on the use of acupuncture by revolutionaries in the 1970s as a means of healing communities ravaged by the drug epidemic.”
