The High Holy Days begin this coming weekend. We’re saying goodbye to 5786 and welcoming 5787. While we are facing many challenges, this new year brings with it new experiences and an opportunity for growth, spirituality, greater acceptance and unity.

We can support one another as we pray for strength and restoration as a cohesive community. Together we mine the challenges that face us for the treasures hidden within, as we have done throughout history.

The Jewish people have faced so many obstacles throughout our history. As a people, we have overcome obstacles and are still here together as a strong unit, in spite of the impediments. This challenging time is another one of those hurdles that as a community, we will move through, stronger and wiser, because of our determination and commitment to thrive. Together we mine the challenges that face us for the treasures hidden within, as we have done throughout history.

They say that a man is measured by the mistakes he makes. As the holiday of Yom Kippur commences next Sunday evening, September 20, this is my opportunity to ask and seek forgiveness from all those whom I have hurt either deliberately or not, by either actions or words during the past year.

I know that the GAOTU will find it in his heart to forgive me and will give me a new slate to work with. If He can forgive me, won't you?

I want to wish my Masonic brethren, their family and friends a Happy & Healthy New Year. May we all be written and sealed in the Book of Life.
