“He was pretty much fed up and kind of at the end of his rope. Yesterday was a really bad day for him.” These were the words used by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Captain Jay Baker to describe the Atlanta shooter responsible for the deaths of 8 people this past March, 6 of whom were Asian women.

This Friday March 26 at 6pm, join Prof. Choi, Hee An (School of Theology), Prof. Yoonsook Ha (School of Social Work), Prof. Hyeouk Chris Hahm (School of Social Work), Prof. Takeo Rivera (College of Arts & Sciences), and Prof. KĂ­nh T. VĹ© (College of Fine Arts) for a response to the March 16 killings in Atlanta and the recent escalation of anti-Asian violence in the United States more generally. The panelists will be speaking on a range of academic and personal topics and will hold space for a larger community conversation afterward on how to move forward as an Asian American community at BU.
