MassArt's Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) offers over 100 courses and workshops in fine art and design, professional design certificates, summer immersive programming and more. MassArt's professional and continuing education program is about two things: creative vision and technical skills. Our faculty is comprised of practicing artists who set high standards for themselves and encoura

ge their students to do the same. Our facilities are built for working artists. Our curriculum is designed to nurture individual expression and creativity while helping students master the appropriate tools. Elevate your Craft this fall and learn from a designer and educator deeply connected to the world of contemporary furniture and craft.

MassArt’s Furniture Design Certificate Program Director Annie Meyer is a Boston-based studio woodworker whose work has been exhibited at institutions including Fuller Craft Museum, Cranbrook Art Museum, Wasserman Projects, and more. With experience teaching at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, North Bennet Street School, and SMFA at Tufts (in addition to MassArt) Annie brings both professional expertise and a passion for hands-on learning to the studio.

Annie loves watching students ideas come to fruition, adding, “Students love the rare chance to step away from screen-based work and reconnect with making physical, meaningful objects by hand, while joining a creative community that continues long after graduation.”

Whether you’re new to furniture making or building toward a career in design, this program offers the opportunity to develop advanced skills, create meaningful work, and join a supportive community of makers.
